Chinese Teacher Creates AI Portraits Of Students To Inspire Them To Achieve Their Dreams
The results were nothing short of magical.
A primary school teacher in Wuhan, China, has taken an innovative approach to motivating her students — by harnessing the power of artificial intelligence (AI)
According to the South China Morning Post, Xiao Yuan, known for her warm and engaging teaching style, recently surprised her class with AI-generated career portraits as part of a New Year's Eve celebration.
Using an image-generation app, she created professional portraits depicting each child in their dream job, turning a simple classroom activity into an inspiring moment of self-affirmation.
The results were nothing short of magical.
One boy, aspiring to be a chef, beamed at his AI-enhanced image — complete with a crisp white toque
A future soldier gasped in delight at his digital transformation in a neatly pressed uniform.
Another student, envisioning herself as a celebrity, admired her glamorous AI-crafted likeness, whispering, "I'm so beautiful!"
But not everyone was on board. Some online critics dismissed careers like e-sports and entertainment as frivolous or even "unhealthy"
Xiao, however, stood firm, emphasising that every dream is valid.
"Every career has its worth as long as it does not harm society or break the law. The world is diverse because everyone has different dreams," she said.
Her message resonated widely, with parents and educators applauding her initiative.
One mother shared that her child eagerly brought their portrait home, declaring, "Mum, this is what I’ll look like when I grow up".
The simple exercise, she said, had planted a seed of ambition in her child's heart.
