This Recently Launched Sneaker-Shaped Gaming Computer Costs More Than A Motorcycle
Can't decide if you wanna be a sneakerhead or a PC gamer? Here's the solution.
Cooler Master is one of the biggest brands in the computer market
The brand is renowned for its cooling products as well as gaming peripherals spanning from mice to mouse pads and more.
One product that stands out from the others on the list is the wacky Sneaker X gaming computer. Yes, you guessed it, it's a gaming PC stuffed inside a sneaker-shaped PC case.
The Sneaker X gaming PC was revealed around October 2023
However, this bespoke design was only made available for purchase to Malaysians recently. The Sneaker X gaming PC is currently open for orders, provided you can foot the bill of over RM11,000. For reference, a Yamaha Y15ZR motorcycle only costs RM8,998.
So far, only two retailers are offering this crazy gaming computer: Emarque and Viewnet.
The Malaysian units of the Sneaker X gaming PC come with several default components, regardless of whether you buy it from Viewnet or Emarque.
Firstly, the case is only available in the Classic Red colourway. Additionally, it features a Cooler Master 850W V850 SFX Gold power supply and a 120mm MasterFan MF120 Halo fan.
To cool down its 14th Gen Intel Core i7-14700F processor, Cooler Master has installed a MasterLiquid PL360 Flux liquid CPU cooler. Completing the standard features is the ASUS ROG Strix B760-I Gaming WiFi motherboard. Each unit also includes a 400mm PCI-E 4.0 x16 riser cable, a PWM fan, and an addressable RGB controller.
The choice of graphics card, RAM, and solid-state drive for the Sneaker X gaming PC varies depending on the retailer you select for purchase. For instance, Viewnet offers the ZOTAC GeForce RTX 4070 Super Twin Edge OC graphics card, along with 32GB PNY XLR8 Mako DDR5-6000 RAM and a 1TB CS2241 NVMe Gen4 M.2 SSD.
The Emarque version of the system comes with an ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4070 Ti OC Edition graphics card. It also includes 32GB Kingston Fury Beast DDR5-5600 RAM and a 1TB KC3000 NVMe Gen4 M.2 SSD.
The Sneaker X gaming computer case started as a PC mod
The story of the Sneaker X gaming PC traces back to late 2020 and early 2021, when renowned PC modder from Thailand, Juggapat Thonglue, also known as JMDF in the scene, submitted the JMDF Sneaker as one of his entries for the Cooler Master Case Mod Series 2020.
This project was selected as one of the Best Art Direction winners. Subsequently, Cooler Master was so impressed with the project that they decided to collaborate with JMDF to create a version that could be commercially available to the public, leading to the creation of the Sneaker X gaming PC.
