Free Adobe Photoshop App Is Coming To iOS And Android Smartphones
The free version of the Adobe Photoshop app will offer essential photo editing tools.
Adobe is finally bringing Photoshop to mobile devices, offering both a free version and a more affordable premium subscription at USD7.99 (RM35.42) per month
It’s a significant shift for the company, which has traditionally kept its flagship image-editing software behind a paywall.
First introduced in 1990, Photoshop has become synonymous with digital image manipulation.
However, up until now, even its most affordable offering required an iPad and a USD9.99 (RM44.27) monthly subscription. The new mobile release changes that, bringing advanced photo-editing capabilities directly to smartphones.

According to Adobe, these tools include layering, masking, and text overlays — ideal for creators producing social media content, podcast covers, or playlist artwork.
Meanwhile, the USD7.99 (RM35.41) per-month premium tier grants access to more advanced features, additional cloud storage, and the web-based version of Photoshop for larger screen editing.
Adobe's move comes as smartphone operating systems from Apple and Google continue to refine their own built-in photo editing tools, challenging Photoshop's dominance
With mobile photography and content creation booming, the company is betting on a new generation of users who want powerful yet intuitive editing software at their fingertips.
Speaking to Reuters, Adobe’s vice president of product marketing for creative apps Deepa Subramaniam emphasised the importance of catering to younger users.
"We spent a lot of time and energy testing directly with our target user base, which is the next-generation creator who does a lot on their phone. It is the way that they express personal creativity, and the application is really built for them," she said.
