Denza, BYD's premium sub-brand, has officially launched the luxurious D9 electric MPV in Malaysia

It comes in two variants: the Advanced and the Premium. The key difference is the drivetrain; the Advanced is front-wheel drive, while the Premium boasts all-wheel drive.

Both variants share a 103.6kWh battery that supports both AC and DC fast charging. They also come in three elegant colours: Arctic White, Whale Sea Blue, and Cosmos Black. Now, let's take a closer look at what sets these two premium electric MPVs apart.

Both versions of the Denza D9 come packed with features that prioritise luxury and convenience

You get a big 15.6-inch touchscreen for all your entertainment, a 10.25-inch digital display behind the steering wheel, and a wireless charger for your phone. There's also a panoramic sunroof to enjoy the view and even a fridge to keep your drinks cool — all conveniently controlled via another touchscreen!

Now, for those who love a bit of speed, the Advanced model can go from 0 to 100km/h in 9.5 seconds and has a range of 600km on a single charge. The Premium model is even faster, reaching 100km/h in just 6.9 seconds, but it has a slightly shorter range of 580km.

As expected from premium electric vehicles, both trims of the Denza D9 come with a comprehensive suite of safety features

Safety is a top priority in both versions of the Denza D9. They come equipped with essential safety features that are standard in most modern cars these days, including traction control and stability control, which help maintain grip and stability in slippery conditions. Think of these systems as invisible co-pilots, quietly working in the background to keep you safe on the road.

But the Premium model goes a step further with some extra safety technology not found in the Advanced version. It includes a driver fatigue detection system that monitors your alertness and prompts you to take a break if signs of drowsiness are detected. It can also tell if you're getting distracted and will gently alert you to stay focused on the road. And to help prevent accidents at intersections, it features a cross-traffic alert system that warns you of oncoming vehicles and can even automatically hit the brakes if necessary.

These extra safety features make the Premium model even safer and more convenient for both the driver and passengers, especially on longer journeys. It's like having an extra set of eyes and a helping hand to ensure a safer ride.

The Denza D9 is now available in Malaysia and the brand honours cross-border warranty services across Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand

The Denza D9 Advanced is priced at RM259,000, while the Premium model comes in at RM309,000. This pricing strategy positions the Denza D9 competitively within the premium electric MPV market, offering a compelling combination of luxury, performance, and advanced technology.
