The Pokémon Company has cancelled trading card pre-orders across Europe after logistics provider CEVA suffered a security breach
According to IGN Southeast Asia, the move comes after customer details were potentially exposed in the cyber incident.
In emails sent to affected customers, the company confirmed the breach occurred at the logistics firm, which handles delivery operations for the Pokémon Center website.
CEVA was also recently implicated in a similar data theft incident involving Valve and its Steam hardware purchases.
The move is believed to affect customers who pre-ordered the 30th Celebration sets.
Image via Pokemon"We are writing to let you know about a cyber incident affecting a Pokémon Center logistics provider that may affect some of your information," said the Pokémon Company in an email to customers
"To fulfil your Pokémon Center orders, CEVA receives delivery-related information to ship your Pokémon Center products," the email added.
The company warned that unauthorised parties may have obtained customer names, mailing addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and order details.
The total number of affected customers remains unknown, and the company has not specified why orders were completely cancelled rather than delayed.
The 30th Celebration set includes highly sought-after Pikachu cards.
