Ahead of Formula 1's return to the Sepang International Circuit in October, local sim racers can now race on the famous track through a new online series
Organised by esports group Vertex Esports, the tournament, aptly named 'Road to Sepang', offers Malaysian gamers a free racing series throughout September.

Backed by virtual reality specialist Evolt XR, the sim racing series is hosted on the popular sim racing title, Assetto Corsa
Built to match the real Formula 1 Grand Prix calendar, the series includes four race nights, with all races starting at 8.30pm.
Here are the upcoming races:
– Italian Grand Prix, 4 September
– Spanish Grand Prix, 11 September
– Azerbaijan Grand Prix, 25 September
The high-octane action will culminate at Malaysia's cathedral of speed, Sepang International Circuit, on 30 September.

Drivers will collect points across every race, building both a weekly leaderboard and a full-season championship
To reward top racers, Evolt XR is offering 12 session passes to the top three finishers each week.
They are also giving three full-day passes to the top three overall winners.
These prizes give digital drivers the chance to step away from their home sim rigs and try virtual reality gear at Evolt XR's venue.

The tournament arrives as local fans prepare to welcome elite racing back to Sepang after nearly 10 years away
Rather than watching from the sidelines, gamers can race on one of the world's best tracks without having to spend thousands on costly gear.
While high-end sim rigs can cost thousands, joining this series requires only a basic racing wheel and a copy of Assetto Corsa.
Gamers can sign up for free on the official Vertex Esports Discord channel to join the grid.
In recent years, sim racing has grown quickly across Southeast Asia, with similar tournaments in Malaysia helping young drivers build their skills before moving on to real-world racing.
