Geely's Premium EV Brand Enters Singapore. Will Malaysia Be Next?

This year marks the official entry of Geely's premium brand, Zeekr, into the Singaporean market
This year, Zeekr — Geely's luxury and premium electric vehicle (EV) brand — will make its official debut in Singapore. Zeekr has established a formidable presence in the European market, competing with renowned luxury brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Two Zeekr models, featuring right-hand drive configurations, will be sold in Singapore
Zeekr X and Zeekr 009 are the two models set to be offered in the island nation.
The Zeekr X is a compact crossover, slightly larger than the closely-related smart #1 compact EV. Both vehicles share the same Sustainable Experience Architecture platform. In contrast, the 009 is a sizable electric MPV, also known as the Volvo EM90 through 'badge-engineering'.
The Zeekr EVs will be priced 'more competitively', offering a more affordable option compared to other luxury automotive brands
According to a representative from Premium, Zeekr is expected to adopt a more competitive pricing strategy than rival German brands such as BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Will Geely bring Zeekr into Malaysia next?
As Zeekr introduces right-hand drive models in Singapore, the likelihood of Geely expanding the brand into Malaysia increases significantly.
Plus, given the increasing of support for EVs through policies and infrastructure in Malaysia, it's almost inevitable. It's just a matter of time.
