The Road Transport Department (JPJ) has officially suspended both MyEG and Zetrix AI as collection agents starting today, 5 October
This move follows the withholding of RM314 million in government revenue collected between 19 May and 30 September this year, according to Bernama.
Addressing public speculation, Transport Minister Anthony Loke refuted claims that the arrears had built up over three years, clarifying that the outstanding revenue had only accumulated over the course of a few months.
"The three-year figure is inaccurate. The outstanding arrears began accumulating in May of this year, a period of just a few months, not three years," Loke said.

Before halting operations at 12.01am on 5 October, the Transport Ministry issued 35 reminder notices to both MyEG and Zetrix
It had also held four engagement sessions.
Although the firm submitted a post-dated cheque for RM231 million dated 30 September, the bank did not process it based on instructions from the company itself.
Loke assured motorists that transaction delivery would remain unaffected.

Here's where you can renew your road tax and pay fines instead
Public services remain accessible via the MyJPJ app, the JPJ Public Portal, physical counters, kiosks, and other official platforms.
To handle fine payments by non-Malaysians near the southern border, mobile JPJ counters will operate from 8am to 10pm at the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex and the Sultan Iskandar Building in Johor.
Meanwhile, 85 approved driving institutes will now conduct computerised KPP01 Theory Tests directly. Putrajaya is also initiating legal action to recover the full RM314 million.
