Spotify Hikes Monthly Prices For Malaysian Subscribers
The price increase will take effect from September.

Starting in September, Spotify Premium users in Malaysia will experience an increase in subscription fees for both the Premium Individual plan and the Family plan, the music streaming service said
In a recent announcement, Spotify revealed that the price of its Premium Individual plan will be adjusted to RM15.90 per month, up from its previous price of RM14.90. Similarly, the Family plan will see a slight increase, now costing RM24.90 per month compared to its previous price of RM23.80.
Spotify said the price adjustment is a necessary measure to sustain the company's commitment to enhancing its product offerings and features. The increased revenue generated from the price hike will be invested back into the platform, allowing Spotify to continue innovating and providing users with the best possible music streaming experience, the company said.
Here's the pricing for all Spotify premium plans after the price hike:
- Spotify Premium Mini – RM0.75 per day (No hike)
- Spotify Premium Individual – RM14.90 per month to RM15.90 per month (RM1 hike)
- Spotify Premium Duo – RM19.80 per month to RM21.50 per month (RM1.70 hike)
- Spotify Premium Family – RM23.80 per month to RM24.90 per month (RM1.10 hike)
- Spotify Premium Student – RM7.50 per month to RM8.50 per month (RM1 hike)
However, existing Premium Family subscribers need not worry about an immediate price change
If you are already a Premium Family subscriber, you will continue paying the current rate of RM23.80 per month until your next billing date in September. From then onwards, your subscription will be revised to the new price of RM24.90 per month.
