You'll Soon Be Able To Use ChatGPT Instantly Without Having To Sign Up
OpenAI wants you to use ChatGPT a lot more frequently to potentially rival Google.
OpenAI is allowing people free access to ChatGPT without needing to register or log in
On 1 April, the tech startup announced that people in the US can start using ChatGPT instantly. You would no longer need to register or sign in to use the tool.
This feature will be rolled out globally in the coming weeks.
With over 100 million people in 185 countries using ChatGPT every week, it appears OpenAI intends to increase its users through this move and potentially rival Google
"It's core to our mission to make tools like ChatGPT broadly available so that people can experience the benefits of AI," the company said in a post on its website.
However, your experience with ChatGPT will be limited if you don't sign in
Users who don't log in will only have access to the GPT-3.5 model. You will not be able to use the Dall-E image generation and search history features either.
OpenAI made it clear that there are many benefits to creating an account.
"There are many benefits to creating an account including the ability to save and review your chat history, share chats, and unlock additional features like voice conversations and custom instructions," the company's post read.
