You Can Now Add Multiple Captions To Instagram Carousels

Instagram has just rolled out a feature that lets users add different captions to each slide in a carousel post, making it easier to give context to every photo or video

The update has been a long-requested feature among users who regularly post photo dumps, travel recaps, tutorials, product showcases, and storytelling content.

Previously, carousel posts only allowed a single caption for the entire post, forcing creators to either explain everything in a lengthy caption or add text directly onto images.

Now, each slide can have its own caption.

To use the feature, simply create a carousel post as usual by selecting multiple photos or videos

Before publishing, you'll see a new option that lets you choose between Single Caption or Multiple Captions.

Select Multiple Captions, then add a unique caption to each slide.

This means your audience will see different captions as they swipe through a carousel, helping them better understand the context behind every photo or video.

The feature could be especially useful for travel posts, event highlights, step-by-step guides, before-and-after comparisons, and creators who want to tell a story slide by slide.

Instagram described the update as a simple change with a big impact: "One toggle. That's it."

The feature is currently rolling out this week, so if you don't see it yet, you may need to update your app or wait for it to become available on your account.
