Marvel is back! From a plethora of successful features in 2022, it's hard to believe that this will be the 15th show by the studio since Phase 4 began with WandaVision in January 2021. Overall, Phase 4 seems to be ushering in a series of new faces to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) with their counterpart predecessors, and this is no exception.

Ushering in Jennifer Walters, it's time to see what this green creature has in store for us once she hits our screens on 18 August.

As stated earlier, the shift into Phase 4 of the MCU has seen a plethora of characters progressing into their supernatural abilities while taking inspiration from a previous Marvel hero. However, it's not always been so straightforward.

From Kate Bishop randomly falling into Clint Barton's lap in Hawkeye (2021), to Kamala Khan never even coming into contact with Carol Danvers in Ms. Marvel (2022), fans will be happy to know that this series sees a familial connection between the predecessor and successor. Not running short of achievements, we'll get to see notable lawyer Jennifer Walters learn the 'avenger' ropes from her scientist cousin, Bruce Banner.

Even though most book-to-series adaptations try to stay true to the original story, some divergence here and there only keep things more interesting as time goes on.

For avid comic readers, you'd probably recall how Jennifer gained her powers after sustaining an injury, which left Bruce no choice but to give her an emergency blood transfusion using his own blood.

Nonetheless, the series plans to take a different route, with Jennifer instead accidentally contaminating her blood with Bruce's blood. While this may not directly impact the outline of the story in She-Hulk (2022), comic fans be warned that you may not get every prediction in the series correct.

As fans all around the world try to decipher where She-Hulk (2022) lands in the MCU timeline, co-director of the series, Kat Coiro, doesn't have a clue where the series lands either.

Nonetheless, one clue seems to point us to the closest direction possible. In a recent clip uploaded to YouTube by Marvel Entertainment, Jennifer can be seen driving Bruce in a car while he wears an arm-sling, seemingly injured. Taking this information back to another stellar Marvel creation, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021), a mid-credits scene shows Shaun and Katy talk to Bruce and Carol Danvers about the power of the rings, with Bruce wearing (you guessed it!) an arm sling.

Though nothing is set in stone, it's the easiest guess we have (but don't take our word for it!).

Were you just as confused seeing Wong in the She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (2022) trailer? We were too, initially that is.

Upon digging further into the archives of the MCU, a little hint may have resolved how Abomination and Wong tie into the series. In the trailer, fans will notice Emil Blonsky (Abomination in human form) trapped in a jail cell lined with red lights, bearing similarity to a scene in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings (2021). Rolling back the tapes, we remember a scene where Wong brings Abomination through a portal, to a cell with the same outline after defeating the beast in Macau.

While fans can rest easy knowing that the cliff-hangers in Shang-Chi (2021) are starting to piece together, we may just unravel a whole new universe of mysteries in She-Hulk (2022).

Upon watching the trailer for She-Hulk (2022), one can be certain that the premise of the series surrounds superheroes in general. With the growing number of super-people stepping up in the world, a new legal division was purposefully started for their legal defence, led by none other than Jennifer Walters herself.

One of the superheroes we encounter through the series goes by Titania, who is introduced as Jameela Jamil's character. Known for her cooky and sometimes demented obsession with She-Hulk, it'll be interesting to see how Jennifer's interconnected relationships with the multitude of superheroes in this franchise come together.

If you bothered to stay till the 'after credits' scene of the trailer (and being a Marvel feature, it would be silly not to), you might have noticed a spandex-clad individual holding two batons in each hand, seemingly waiting to take on his next enemy.

As eventually revealed to audiences through a sneak-peek clip, Matt Murdock is returning to claim the role of Daredevil. A blind lawyer who also leads his life as a masked vigilante, not much has been revealed about his capacity here — though we're pretty certain we'll see The Devil of Hell's Kitchen strut his stuff and give She-Hulk a run for her money.

Somewhat a continuation of his own story from Netflix's Daredevil (2015-2018), fans familiar with this series may understand his reintroduction into She-Hulk (2022), and won't have to worry about it being as gruesome as before.

Some may consider this a rather contradictory point, as comic book readers would be familiar with the fact that Jennifer received a lesser amount of the contamination that turned Bruce green.

But as longtime fans of the MCU will recognise, Bruce Banner's ability to control the Hulk within him has not been a smooth journey. From almost killing his loved ones to fighting alongside the good guys with no clear recognition of what he's actually doing, we only recently saw the hero come to terms with his alter ego in Avengers: Endgame (2019).

However, Jennifer may be able to master the ability of harmoniously living with She-Hulk from the very beginning, as we see in the trailer. Does this make her just as strong, if not stronger, than her cousin? Only time will tell.

Yeah, that funny feature in the trailer wasn't a one-time thing. While such a feature isn't groundbreaking in the world of a superhero creation (as Deadpool famously broke the fourth wall in his 2016 Warner Bros feature), many may not actually know that She-Hulk did it first.

Throughout the years, She-Hulk's hilarious ability to break the fourth wall in the comic books somewhat amplified her recognition among Marvel fans. One of her most notable moments, however, was ripping through a comic page questioning if her comic was being cancelled. Little did she know, this unique sense of self will finally be represented on the screen once 18 August arrives.
