Barney The Purple Dinosaur Has A New Look But People Have Mixed Feelings
At least, he'll still love you anyway.
Barney, the beloved children's purple dinosaur from everyone's childhood, is making a comeback with a fresh new look
Last year, Mattel announced the debut of a brand-new Barney animated series for a new generation, set to premiere globally this year.
"The series will feature the ubiquitous purple dinosaur and friends, introducing new audiences to the world of Barney through music-filled adventures centred on love, community, and encouragement," reads Mattel's statement.

The Barney digital makeover will be featured across television, film, YouTube, and a range of kids' products, including toys and clothing
"Barney's message of love and kindness has stood the test of time," said Josh Silverman, Mattel's chief franchise officer and global head of consumer products.
"We will tap into the nostalgia of the generations who grew up with Barney, now parents themselves, and introduce the iconic purple dinosaur to a new generation of kids and families around the world across content, products, and experiences."

However, while some people are loving the new look, the makeover has been receiving mixed reactions
Barney has been off the air since 2010 after a nearly two-decade run on Barney & Friends, a popular live-action children's show.
It first aired on PBS on 6 April, 1992.
The new series will mark the iconic purple dinosaur's first appearance in 14 years.
How are we feeling about the new series? Let us know.
