According to an exclusive report from Deadline, the live-action adaptation is still in its early development stage. The game's developer, Sloclap, will be collaborating with film studio Story Kitchen to produce the movie.

Derek Kolstad, who wrote the first three John Wick films, will be writing the screenplay for the film adaptation. He also wrote the 2021 action thriller, Nobody, and even wrote for two episodes of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier series, which are Power Broker and The Whole World Is Watching.

Set in modern day China, Sifu tells the story of a martial arts student who seeks revenge following the death of his sifu, who is the martial arts school's master and his mentor

The main protagonist is equipped with a magical talisman that allows him to be resurrected, but with a price to pay: he ages each time he uses it to revive himself.

The bestselling and top-rating game is nominated for 'Best Independent Game', 'Best Fighting Game', and 'Best Action Game' for the upcoming The Game Awards happening on 8 December.
