"PowerPoint Presentation" — Locals Impressed With Digital Menu Board At Mamak Outlet
"Kinemaster effects transition."
A recent Malaysian TikTok video has gone viral after a local highlighted a digital menu being used instead of traditional menu boards at a mamak stall in Kuala Lumpur
Taken by user @cabbage.wav, whose real name is Alya Rizki, the clip shows a widescreen television above the counters of a mamak, that digitally changes every few seconds, showing different order options available at the eatery.
In a caption plastered on the video, Alya wrote how the changing menu reminded her of a PowerPoint presentation.
During short conversation with SAYS, Alya shared that the video was taken at a Nasi Kandar Pelita outlet in KLCC, specifically Jalan Ampang.

It turned out that Alya was not the only person impressed by the digital menu, as her TikTok has received over 1.5 million views and almost 200,000 likes since being posted
A plethora of TikTok users debated over what video editing software was used to create the menu.
An overwhelming amount of the responders stated that they believe the menu was created using an editing system called KineMaster, which is historically known for being able to produce similar effects to the menu shown in the video.

A few others even gave their take on the modernity of the mamak to have such menu displays. However, some also felt like there were some aspects of the menu that could have been improved.
"I'd be reading through it halfway and then it would just switch to something else," wrote one user.

Nevertheless, a few people couldn't help but make jokes about the screen at the mamak.
"Oh, the editor is definitely being paid in the millions," joked one user, while another person stated that the most important part was that the customers could see the prices of the items clearly.
"Brothers wanted Marvel-level transitions at the restaurant," kidded another person.
