Love At First Sight: Indian Man Weds Chinese Bride After Praying For Love At Taoist Temple
Truly a 'divine' love story.
Ask and you shall receive.
That was certainly the case for an Indian man who met his beautiful bride at a Taoist temple in Singapore.
According to Shin Min Daily News, 26-year-old insurance broker Rishi Kumar told reporters in fluent Mandarin, that he was praying for fortune and love at the temple five years ago when he met Jiang Huiyi, who was working there at the time.
Like a cliché love story, when Rishi was done praying and had planted his incense sticks, he turned around and saw his future bride. It was love at first sight for Rishi, who immediately went to chat with her.
Rishi was 20 years old while Jiang was 24 years old when they first met.
The couple officially began dating in January last year after Rishi spent five years pursuing his future bride
Rishi said that he would consistently visit the same temple where Jiang worked to pray and spend time with her.
Jiang was initially apprehensive about beginning a relationship with Rishi because of their age difference, and she thought that he was too young for her.
However, thanks to Rishi's perseverance, the pair got married last month on 26 September.
As both the bride and groom are devout Taoists and had met at a Taoist temple, it made sense for them to get hitched at one
The pair tied the knot at the Lorong Koo Chye Sheng Hong Temple in Singapore. The ceremony was documented on the temple's Facebook page, where they featured the couple's marriage registration plus some romantic photos of the pair posing together.
Their wedding was witnessed by several friends and family members and was officiated by the Taoist Federation (Singapore) chairman, Tan Thiam Lye.
