A new chicken rice stall in Kuching, Sarawak, is capturing attention with its unique airplane-themed menu

Located at the 126 Laksa food court, the stall has gone viral, with over 4,900 shares on Facebook.

The stall's English name, No-Show Chicken Rice, is a clever play on its Chinese name, Fang Fei Ji, which uses homophones — characters that sound the same but have different meanings: 'chicken' (鸡, ji) and 'plane' (飞机, fei ji).

In Chinese, substituting "plane" for "chicken" would mean "no-show", matching the English name perfectly.

The airplane theme extends to the menu, with meals named like travel classes:

  • Economy Class: Steamed chicken rice.
  • Business Class: A mix of roasted and steamed chicken.
  • Premium Economy: Fried chicken rice.
  • First Class: A mystery meal priced at RM18, marked with question marks on the menu.
  • Flight + Hotel: A steamed chicken platter for five people.
  • Curry Delay: Another creatively named dish.
There are also "Add-ons for your trip":
- Seat = rice (RM2)
- Travel protection = timun (RM2)
- Baggage allowance = tapau (RM1)
- Adult = steam chicken (RM5)
- Child = crispy chicken (RM7)

Adding to the theme, the stall's tagline is "Everyone can eat," with a logo featuring a chicken-shaped plane.

The staff even dress in pilot uniforms for an extra touch of fun.
