Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has announced an allocation of RM10 million to promote the usage of artificial intelligence while tabling the 2025 Budget today, 18 October

Anwar said the funds will be distributed by the National AI Office (NAIO) to academic institutions and the business sector.

He said this after highlighting the country's success in securing USD16.9 billion (about RM72 billion) from Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, Google, and Oracle for the period up to 2038.

"Now is the time for local companies to seize this investment opportunity. The benefits must reach the people, including job opportunities, development of centres of excellence, and community empowerment," said Anwar, who is also the finance minister.
