Dog Dies After Being Shot With Arrow For Allegedly Entering Farm Through The Wrong Lane
The incident reportedly occurred at a farm in Selama, Perak on 22 December.
A dog is believed to have been fatally shot with an arrow for entering a farm through the wrong lane in Selama, Perak on Sunday, 22 December
According to Buletin TV3, Stray Animals Association of Malaysia (SAFM) president R Kalaivanan claimed the arrow was allegedly shot by a worker at Ladang Malaya.
The dog, Kutty, suffered severe injuries from the attack before succumbing to the cruel act.
SAFM strongly condemned the incident, with Kalaivanan emphasising that such acts should not be tolerated.
"The cruelty challenges the basic principles of humanity and clearly violates the law under the Animal Welfare Act 2015.
"SAFM hopes that witnesses of the incident will come forward to provide statements and assist in the investigation.
"You can file a report at the nearest police station, while a complaint to the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) is also required to initiate an official investigation to identify the perpetrator," Kalaivanan said.

SAFM posted photos of Kutty on Instagram today, 27 December, showing the arrow had pierced through its left abdomen and exited from the right side
The NGO urged the police and DVS to fully enforce Section 30 of the Animal Welfare Act 2015, which carries penalties of up to three years' imprisonment, a fine of RM100,000, or both for those found guilty of animal cruelty.
"Animal cruelty remains rampant despite various awareness campaigns.
"This ongoing issue is due to weaknesses in law enforcement, allowing many offenders to escape legal action. It is time to strengthen our laws and ensure stricter and more effective enforcement," the statement read.
At the time of writing, SAFM's post has garnered over 1,300 likes, with many netizens expressing their outrage over the incident.
