M'sian Team Shines At Myanmar's Asean Quiz 2022

Three participants were chosen during the ASEAN quiz competition, which was organised by Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia (JaPen) from 1 to 30 June.

Three Malaysian representatives have brought home victory worth USD1,200 (RM5,281) as they finished in second place in the ASEAN Quiz 2022 competition held in Myanmar recently

The three contestants that represented Malaysia are Sky Broxlyne Roy Maxwill from SMK Mat Salleh Ranau, Sabah, George Loh Ing Won of SMK Methodist, Sarawak, and Muhammad Adam Haiqal Shaari Ismail of SM Sains Kuala Terengganu.

Myanmar hosted the 10th ASEAN Quiz for the first time, with the theme "ASEAN: A Community of Peace, Prosperity, and Sustainability" at Nay Pyi Taw yesterday, 14 December.

According to the Department of Information (JaPen), the objective of this ASEAN Quiz is to gain more knowledge and awareness of ASEAN affairs among the participants.

The quiz also helps to introduce the culture, politics, economic, and social insights of ASEAN countries to the youths.

The national-level competition held an online preliminary stage from 1 to 30 June this year to select the three participants from Malaysia. Overall, 54,796 entries were submitted nationwide.

During an interview with reporters, Loh expressed his gratitude to his teachers, teammates, coach, and Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia officials.

"We did lots of research about ASEAN online and had discussions with the team, sometimes till the wee hours, which eventually paid off the hard work we put in," said Loh.
