Netizens offered advice, though many comments were made in jest.
One Facebook user joked, "Increase your income. If you want to do that by being an auto broker, drop me a DM. And you don't need to spend on your girlfriend because she is not your wife yet. So, you are not obliged to pay her nafkah.
"It seems like a fabrication. But what you can do is to [reduce all your expenses]. Break up with your girlfriend. Fast more and reduce spending on food. You can save a few hundred ringgit," said another person.
Other netizens lectured the man for his poor decision.
"Aiya, you already made a mistake [with the Civic purchase]. With a RM4,200 monthly salary, you should have opted for Honda City or Perodua Bezza," read a comment.
"Why did you buy a Civic when you knew your [take-home salary] is RM3,700? People who comfortably drive a Civic should ideally earn more than RM6,000," wrote a person.
Meanwhile, another Facebook user remarked, "I hope you are lying."
