PN Grabs 2 Selangor Seats from PH+BN With Tiny 0.1% Margin
The differences in the number of votes was 0.09% in Gombak Setia and 0.07% in Taman Medan.
Perikatan Nasional (PN) secured two Selangor state assembly seats from the Pakatan Harapan (PH)-Barisan Nasional (BN) alliance by winning with a margin of less than 0.1% in votes
PN candidate Hilman Idham won the Gombak Setia state assembly seat by securing 58 more votes than BN candidate Megat Zulkarnain Omardin.
Hilman received 30,299 votes (49.17% of the total votes), while Megat Zulkarnain secured 30,241 votes (49.07%). Independent candidate Mohamed Salim Mohamed Ali gained 1,076 votes (1.75%).
To put that into perspective, the difference in the number of votes between the PN and PH candidates was only 0.09%.

For the Taman Medan state assembly seat, PN candidate Dr Afif Bahardin won by securing 30 more votes than PH candidate Ahmad Akhir Pawan Chik
Dr Afif received 22,316 votes (50.03%), while Ahmad Akhir received 22,286 votes (49.97%). The difference was only 0.06%.
The turnout rate in Gombak Setia and Taman Medan was 69.6% and 72.0%, respectively.
In the last state election, PH secured 51 state assembly seats. This time, the PH-BN alliance no longer enjoy a super majority (two-third or 66%) after winning only 34 out of the 56 total seats.
