A teenager in Singapore was arrested by police yesterday, 11 April, after he was seen sexually assaulting a cat in the corridor of a flat in Bukit Panjang

Speaking with Singaporean news publication TODAY, police confirmed that they had received a report about the incident on Tuesday and have since arrested the teenager.

The incident occurred on Saturday, 8 April, at around 1.15am, and it caught the attention of netizens after the cat's owner shared closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage showing the boy doing the obscene act.

The cat's owner, Ismul Azim, said that he uploaded the CCTV footage on social media in hopes of seeking justice

In the video, the teenage boy can be seen looking around the flat's surroundings before pulling down his pants and humping the cat.

Ismul told Mothership that he was notified about the incident after his neighbour sent him the CCTV footage.

The cat owner went on to say that his pet had shown signs of trauma after the incident occurred.

"[We] made a police report. But nothing much can be done. Putting it out here, so hoping the relevant authorities will realise it once it goes viral here," wrote Ismul in his Instagram post's caption.

Police investigations are currently underway.
