The three-minute-long video shows a Korean woman singing to her 16-year-old Pomeranian, Okey as it is cradled by her son.

The Facebook video was posted on 19 August and has since received over 245,000 views and 4,000 shares.

In the video, the woman sings Okey's favourite song while her son can be heard weeping in the background

According to Must Share News, the lyrics translate to, "Hey, Okey. Let's get you something yummy to eat, alright?" in which the dog responds by nodding its head.

At one point, the woman asks, "Okey, can you hear me?" to which Okey nods again.

"Okey, I love you very, very much," the woman can be heard saying repeatedly.

As the video progresses, Okey can be seen struggling to breathe as it slowly loses consciousness

When her son begins to cry, she tells her son not do so, as crying would disturb Okey.

"Mama loves you, thank you, and have a safe journey. Go in peace, my child," the woman can be heard saying as she caresses Okey.

When Okey finally breathes its last, the boy cries in despair while the woman slowly lifts the dog into her arms.

She then retreats into a corner before bursting into tears.
