Here Is A Recap Of Malaysian Athletes' Progress At The Paris Olympics Over The Weekend
Below is a summary of the events Malaysian athletes participated in on 27 July and 28 July.
The Paris Olympics officially kicked off last Friday, 26 July, with 26 Malaysian athletes competing for the country's first gold medal
There were 11 events involving Malaysian athletes over the weekend.
Team Malaysia won six of these events, while three athletes were eliminated from their competitions and are no longer in contention.

To keep you up to speed, here are the results of the events involving Malaysian athletes:
27 July
1. Badminton: Mixed doubles
Malaysian mixed doubles players Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei defeated Singapore's Terry Hee-Jessica Tan in their Group D opener with scores of 23-21 and 21-12.
The world number nine duo outmatched their opponents in 42 minutes.
2. Badminton: Men's doubles
Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, bronze medalists from the Tokyo Olympics, bested Britain's Sean Vendy-Ben Lane in a tough three-game match with scores of 19-21, 21-16, and 21-11.
The world number four duo defeated the world number 18 pair in the 72-minute Group A match.
3. Badminton: Women's doubles
Pearly Tan-Muralitharan Thinaah lost to China's world number one duo Chen Qing Chen-Jia Yi Fan with scores of 21-17 and 22-20 in their Group A match.
The world number 13 pair must win the next two matches to advance to the next stage.
4. Shooting: Men's 10m air pistol
National shooter Johnathan Wong finished 26th with 570 points among 33 shooters in the event, resulting in his elimination.
Only the top eight shooters are qualified to advance to the final round.
Wong debuted in the Rio Olympics in 2016, finishing 28th in the 10m air pistol event and 37th in the 50m pistol event.
5. Swimming: Men's 400m freestyle
Steve Khiew Hoe Yean clocked in 3:51.66 seconds in the event, finishing 27th out of 37 participants.
Khiew did not advance to the next round, as only the top eight swimmers proceed.
This was the 22-year-old swimmer's first Olympic appearance.
28 July
Badminton: Women's doubles
After losing to China's world number one pair on Saturday, Pearly Tan-Muralitharan Thinaah bounced back with a victory over Japan's world number six duo Mayu Matsumoto-Wakana Nagahara.
The national shuttlers triumphed in the 73-minute match with scores of 18-21, 21-15, and 21-16.
Their win marks their first in the highly competitive Group A.
Tan and Thinaah will face Indonesia's Apriyani Rahayu-Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti on Tuesday, 30 July.
Badminton: Men's doubles
Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik continued their winning streak after overpowering Canada's Adam Dong-Nyl Yakura with scores of 21-10 and 21-15.
The world number four pair defeated their opponents in the 40-minute Group A match, securing themselves a slot in the quarter-finals.
Chia and Soh will face a tough match next, going up against China's world number one pair Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang on Tuesday.
Badminton: Men's singles
Lee Zii Jia dominated Sri Lanka's Viren Nettasinghe with scores of 21-14 and 21-12.
The world number seven shuttler will face Spain's world number 62 Pablo Abian on Wednesday, 31 July, in his second Group G match.
Badminton: Mixed doubles
Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei won their second match in Group D against American duo Vinson Chiu-Jennie Gai with scores of 21-15 and 24-22.
The world number nine pair's victory secured their spot in the quarter-finals.
Their next match is against China's world number two duo Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping today, 29 July.
Archery: Women's team
Malaysia's Ariana Nur Dania Mohamad Zairi, Syaqiera Masyahikh, and Nurul Azreena Mohd Fazil were knocked out after losing 5-3 to the Indonesian team in the 1/8 elimination round.
Despite their defeat, they will compete in the individual event in the coming days.
Swimming: Women's 100m breaststroke preliminaries
18-year-old Tan Rouxin recorded the fastest time in Heat 1 with 1:12.50, competing against swimmers from Morocco, Antigua and Barbuda, Gambia, and Kuwait.
However, her time placed her 33rd out of 37 swimmers in the preliminaries. Only the top 16 swimmers advance to the semi-finals.
