HUAWEI is set to reveal its latest groundbreaking tech product just hours after Apple unveils the iPhone 16

In a clear sign that the Chinese tech giant is taking on its US counterpart head-on, HUAWEI's event will take place on 10 September at 2.30pm Beijing time. For the US, this will be late evening on 9 September.

Apple is expected to reveal its iPhone 16 lineup during its morning event on 9 September, having teased it with the tagline 'It's Glowtime'.

HUAWEI, meanwhile, has been tight-lipped about what it will unveil. However, the company's head of the consumer and automotive technology group, Richard Yu, has dropped several hints.

According to Yu, HUAWEI's "leading, innovative, and disruptive product is here"

In a Weibo post, Yu said HUAWEI has "turned science fiction into reality" after investing five years into the product.

"This is an epoch-making product that others have thought of but cannot make," his post read, according to CNBC.

Yu's comments come as HUAWEI makes a comeback with a 34% revenue jump to USD58.6 billion (RM257 billion) in the first half of 2024, signalling that it has overcome US sanctions

Meanwhile, Apple's revenue from iPhone sales dropped by a whopping USD2.7 billion (RM11.8 billion) year-over-year, totalling USD85.2 billion in the first half of 2024.

While HUAWEI hasn't confirmed any specifics, rumours suggest that the new product could be a foldable smartphone

According to reports, Yu was spotted holding the new device, rumoured to be a "trifold" due to its triple folding capabilities.

The device reportedly features a large, tablet-like screen that fits within the dimensions of a regular smartphone.

Many are now eagerly awaiting the reveal of HUAWEI's "epoch-making product" on 9 September.
