New Malaysian Boy Group Releases Catchy Multilingual Debut Song That You'll Play On Repeat
One of the members said he originally composed the song for an advertisement, but it was rejected in the end.
Malaysia's newest boy group, DISTORTED, is ready to establish themselves as the next big thing with their debut single, SWITCH
DISTORTED is a new trio group consisting of three members, SINO, BALO, and ENEYEQAY.
They are signed under SomeDay Records, a newly launched English urban music label by Universal Music Malaysia.
The group released their debut track SWITCH earlier today, 2 June, on all digital streaming platforms, with the music video set to premiere tonight at 9pm.
SWITCH beautifully showcases the group's fluency in rap skills as they sing over an addictive urban pop beat
Despite having different flows, the three members rap harmoniously on the track, with BALO adding a Malay twist to make the song multilingual.
"SWITCH talks about perseverance and newness. Coping in new situations, staying composed, and constantly moving through everything despite the changes.
"With the song's lyrics and the constant switching of drum patterns to compliment it all, it best describes the overall message and vibe of the song," said the group.
SINO added that he originally composed the song for an advertisement, but it was rejected in the end.
With strong passion and belief in the song, SINO wrote his frustrations and emotions that were still fresh into the track itself.
One of the band's rappers is a member of the three-piece Malay band, Insomniacks
26-year-old Iqie revealed a different side to his appeal with DISTORTED, debuting with a new name, BALO, as well as a new sound.
His new persona is completed by him spitting bars in SWITCH, which his fans can still appreciate and enjoy.
However, he still brought out his soft-boy energy and charm in the music video.
