Earlier today, SAYS reported about Kelana Jaya's Giant Hypermarket officially closing down, marking the end of an era

Among the several customers who commented on SAYS' post to reminisce about their cherished memories at the hypermarket, one individual stood out

Hannah Yeoh.

Yes, our Youth and Sports Minister.

Yeoh, who studied law, met Anthony Pua Kiam Wee, popularly known as Tony Pua, who at the time headed the Democratic Action Party's (DAP) Damansara branch.

They met at the Starbucks outlet at the Giant Hypermarket in Kelana Jaya in 2007, she commented under the SAYS post.

According to Yeoh, it was her very first time meeting Pua, and she, together with her friend Edward Ling, ended up signing the form to join DAP and thus, starting her journey into politics.

In a WhatsApp conversation with SAYS, Yeoh further shared that it was Edward who brought her into politics.

"We signed the form to join Tony Pua's branch in Damansara. That was the year 2007," she shared with us, adding, "The rest is history".

And she is right.

From being elected as the first-ever female Speaker of the Selangor State Legislative Assembly to now holding the Ministry of Youth and Sports portfolio, Yeoh has come a long way.
