If your idea of a good day involves flaky, crispy roti canai dipped generously into curry, then this might just be the "dream job" you didn't know existed

Penang Dollah Kitchen, a Malaysian restaurant in Perth, Australia, recently posted a playful "job listing" that had Malaysians (and foodies everywhere) doing a double take.

But this isn't your usual role like a chef or waiter.

Nope. They're looking for a Full-Time Roti Canai Taster.

Based in Warwick, Penang Dollah Kitchen stated in its caption that the only qualification needed is basically… being a foodie.

The requirements for this role are simple:

  • You must be incapable of saying "no" to a second (or third) serving
  • Strong appreciation for crispy, flaky roti canai
  • Bonus points if you've ever said "just one roti" but ended up ordering five more

Speaking to SAYS, the restaurant said the 'Roti Canai Taster job' was created purely as a fun marketing campaign, not an actual hiring opportunity

The idea behind the "ad" was to celebrate their love for roti canai, make people smile, and connect with their audience in a lighthearted, tongue-in-cheek way.

Known for their cheeky promotions, the restaurant has previously run campaigns like offering 50% off your bill if you bring your ex on Valentine's Day, as well as a Roti Canai eating challenge, where customers could put their appetite to the test.

So while you can't actually apply for the roti canai job (sad), you can still live the experience. Just order one roti… then accidentally three more. For research purposes, of course. 😛
