But one man hasn't let that deter his efforts.
On Tuesday, 17 March, X user @ShwetaKukreja_ shared a picture of a man who was spotted wearing a T-shirt with a quirky message on the back.
The message reads, "For single people."
Just below the message was a QR code.
The man was standing in the crowd at Mahalaxmi Race Course grounds in South Mumbai, where Ed Sheeran was performing on 16 March.
It's definitely a fitting place to find a potential partner. Ed Sheeran's hit song, Thinking Out Loud, will surely set the right vibes for a memorable first impression.
In the words of Ed Sheeran, "people fall in love in mysterious ways".
Once scanned, the QR code takes you to the man's Tinder profile
The man, Hardik, wrote a cheeky description on his Tinder profile for people who were curious enough to scan the QR code.
At the end of the description, the man writes "Tinder partner. This profile is for promotional purposes", which could suggest that the profile may (disappointingly) be fake.
But hey, imagine if it was real. It'd be a cute How I Met Your Father moment.
