There's A Cat Beach In Penang Where 300 Adorable Kitties Roam Freely & Can Be Adopted
A cat lover's paradise. :')
Move over, Japan Cat Island.
Malaysia has its very own 'cat beach' and it's filled with lots of cute, cuddly kitties!
Cat Beach Sanctuary in Teluk Bahang, Penang, is home to some 300 friendly kitties that roam the beach freely, inviting visitors to cuddle or play with them
Founders Teviot Fairservis and her friend, Nana Bin Wanchik, affectionately known as 'Papa Kucing', shared a desire to create a haven for rescuing and sheltering abandoned cats.
In 2011, they opened the sanctuary, providing a space for cat lovers worldwide to come together, connect, and share their love for these felines by the beach.
The shelter also provides veterinary services for rescued cats
According to Teviot, the public often brings in abandoned and injured cats, some of which have been scalded with hot water or hit by vehicles, seeking intensive care and treatment.
"I am saddened to see how cats are being cruelly treated by inhumane people, but we try to provide them with the best treatment," Teviot told Harian Metro.
With the help of volunteers and fellow cat lovers from all over the world, who help contribute funds and other essential needs, Cat Beach Sanctuary is able to provide the best services for these kitties.
Cat Beach Sanctuary is a peaceful place where you can relax and spend time with furry friends, all while soaking in the beautiful scenery and fresh air
Admission is free, but if you wish, you can make a small donation of cat supplies or funds to support the shelter's ongoing care for rescued cats.
If any of the kitties capture your heart, feel free to adopt one, either in person or through a virtual adoption process
Every rescued cat receives the essential loving care, including vaccinations and spaying/neutering.
