Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra Is Performing Whitney Houston's Music For One Night Only
The special concert will feature songs like 'I Will Always Love You', 'Run To You', 'Saving All My Love For You', and 'Greatest Love Of All'.

The Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra (MPO) is paying tribute to Whitney Houston on Saturday, 14 October at Plenary Hall, KLCC
The special concert will marry pop and classical elements, providing a richness in music, and capturing Whitney Houston's songs like never before.
Previously, MPO held tributes for other greats, including The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Billy Joel, ABBA, and Teresa Teng.
Whitney Houston needs no introduction. As one of the best-selling music artistes of all time, she's arguably one of the greatest singers the world has ever known.
With 11 number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, Houston has sold 220 million records worldwide.
Her accolades include eight Grammy Awards, 16 Billboard Music Awards, two Emmy Awards, and 28 Guinness World Records.
The MPO will be led by Berklee-trained conductor and arranger Brent Havens
Havens has helmed the MPO in concerts at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS. He has collaborated with the Royal Philharmonic, BBC Concert Orchestra, and the orchestras of Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Minnesota, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis, Houston, Atlanta, Baltimore, Dallas and Buffalo.
He has also written music for television movies, commercials, and worked with the Doobie Brothers. He is the arranger/conductor for all the symphonic rock programmes for Windborne Music.
Meanwhile, Rashidra Scott will be lending her golden vocals to the concert
The Broadway star has appeared in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical, Sister Act, Hair, and Avenue Q. Scott was also a background vocalist for Patti Austin and has appeared in numerous television programmes.
She was also the featured vocalist for Disney Cruise Line and Tarzan Rocks! at Disney's Animal Kingdom, USA.
For this special concert with the MPO, Scott will be performing some of Houston's biggest hits such as I Will Always Love You, Run To You, Saving All My Love For You, How Will I Know, and Greatest Love Of All.
