Malaysia's most terrifying extravaganza is back!
Sunway Lagoon's Nights of Fright 9 (NOF9) is set to send shivers down the spines of all thrill seekers in the lead-up to Halloween.
Brace yourself for a month-long journey into the darkest corners of fear, as NOF9 will start from 29 September till 31 October, unfolding every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night from 7.30pm to 11.30pm.
Be prepared to confront a nightmarish realm of unimaginable horrors, as this year's NOF9 boasts the largest number of haunted attractions in all of Asia.
From an array of houses filled with real-life phobias and a new, bigger Scarytales Theatre, here are nine wicked haunted attractions lurking and waiting for you at NOF9:
1. Texas Chainsaw Massacre — OUT.BACK.ATTACK!
Discover the chilling secret sheds hidden behind the infamous Texas house, where Leatherface's malevolence takes root. This sinister lair is adorned with a grotesque collection of scalps and memorabilia from his victims. Nestled at the back of the park, this experience is not for the faint of heart. Consider yourself warned!
2. The Legend of Sweeney Todd: Barbershop Killer of Fleet Street
Dare to venture into the infamous barber shop where Sweeney Todd's vengeful blade and Mrs Lovett's sinister meat pies await you. Can you stomach the horrifying truth lurking behind these devilish delicacies? Navigate labyrinthine catacombs haunted by tortured souls seeking eternal revenge.
3. ANIMALIUM: The Fields Of Fear
Enter a toxic wasteland where humans have mutated into bizarre 'human-animal' hybrids, clinging to survival after a failed harvest. Witness the unsettling evolution of these strange creatures as they carve out a new home from the remnants of a ravaged world.
4. Murder At Madame Zhu's
Chaos erupts in Chinatown as a once-private and exclusive restaurant falls under the control of a deranged chef who turns customers into his grisly masterpieces. Can you escape without becoming the next dish on his gruesome menu?
5. Hammer-icons of Horror
Iconic movie monsters all gathered in a single eerie space! Journey through each hall to encounter Dracula, Frankenstein, The Abominable Snowman, and more. Experience the resurgence of terrifying memories and the resurrection of fantastic nightmares!
6. The Asylum
Locked away in the subterranean depths of this asylum of terror are some of Malaysia's most sinister inmates, imprisoned for far too long. Is it time for them to break free and unleash their madness upon the world?
7. Scarytales Theatre: Dark Silk
Returning bigger and darker than ever, the new Scarytales Theatre will recount the enigmatic tale of the Thai Silk King, Jim Thompson, who mysteriously vanished in the eerie depths of Cameron Highlands.
8. Lynton V Harris' Horrorwood Studios
Step into a wax museum housing your favourite Hollywood movie characters, including Billy, Ghost Face, Jason, Freddy, Pennywise, and more. But beware — the scorching Malaysian heat has taken its toll, causing the wax figures to melt. Are they stirring to life?
9. Lucha Libre in UV 3D
Viva Mexico! Witness the underground Lucha Libre wrestling event featuring two rings and a backstage stadium filled with mayhem. Keep a close eye out for Rey Mysterio Jr, El Santa, Dr. Wagner, Mil Máscaras, La Torcha, and The Blue Demon, as they battle under the mesmerising glow of UV 3D lights.
