What's more, during the total lockdown, we can't visit our favourite art stores and spend hours losing ourselves in the rows upon rows of colour-coded supplies. (Yes, it's a therapeutic process for most of us.)

1. Stickerrific

2. Salt x Paper Stationery & Gifts

Salt x Paper is a stationery arts and crafts store based in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. They carry curated art and stationery supplies like art journals and colourful designer notebooks, cards, gift tags, wrapping paper, postcards, stickers, pens, washi tapes, inks, and more. 

Additionally, they sell an assortment of accessories, bags, face masks, toys, candles and scents, and even beauty products. Although their store is in Sabah, they organise deliveries twice a week, and offer free nationwide shipping for purchases exceeding RM150.

Maycraft is a one-stop centre for all kinds of needlework projects, including embroidery, crochet, knitting, quilting and patchwork, cross-stitch, and felt craft. They also sell crafting kits and books to get you started on the basics, so you can have fun learning new skills at your own pace.

Scrap-N-Crop is a familiar art store known to scrapbooking and journaling enthusiasts. They have a myriad of curated stationery, paper and fabric craft supplies, calligraphy tools, jewellery-making supplies, quilling paper, and sewing materials.

Spotlight originated from a small family fabric stall at Melbourne's Queen Victoria Market. Today, you can find this red-and-blue megastore in three outlets across Klang Valley, selling a large variety of household, textile, and crafting supplies. 

With colourful aisles displaying canvases and paintbrushes of all sizes, pretty scrapbook paper, affordable acrylic paints, decorative beads, macrame ropes, colourful yarn, fabrics, embroidery thread, and much more, Spotlight is truly every crafter's paradise.

6. Fabric Fanatics

If you enjoy sewing patchwork quilts or pillowcases, or even scrunchies and other forms of needlework, you'll be a fan of Fabric Fanatics. They carry imported fabric collections from Taiwan, China, South Korea, Japan, and the United States, and each one has a colourful pattern and tells a unique story. You'll find lots of animals, fairy tales, and Japanese zakka designs in their store.

In 2008, the founder of Fabric Fanatics begun sourcing rare fabrics from around the world as a part-time hobby on Etsy. A chemistry graduate who worked as a semiconductor engineer for six years, she now has a physical and online store, and provides international shipping.

7. Cziplee

Situated in Bangsar Baru, Cziplee is a well-known stationery and craft supplies store. They sell a large variety of writing instruments, and carry imported reputable brands like Faber-Castell, Lamy, Moleskine, Parker, and Stabilo. You'll find journals, rubber stamps, calligraphy pens, paint, colour pencils, and other crafts here.

Craftiviti is a homegrown retail and online crafting store, supplying different types of craft materials like candle-making tools, bath bomb kits, silicone moulds for resin crafts, perfumery, and more. They even have their own in-house DIY personal care experience bar, as well as various workshops.

15. Craft Haven

Artists may recall Craft Haven's iconic turquoise-coloured store in 1 Utama Shopping Centre. Customers will remember seeing beautifully painted wooden trinkets, glass, mugs, and sculptures on display behind the shop's window. Sometimes, passers-by would notice children gleefully painting all sorts of craft projects under the guidance of the shop owners.

Unfortunately, they closed down their physical store in 2019. Not to worry, for they have transferred their business to their online platform, and continue to provide an abundance of sketchpads, watercolour products, beads, painting tools, face and body art sets, decorative craft papers, and glass etching to their loyal Malaysian customers.
