Here are six homey book cafes in Selangor where you can have some much needed me-time:

1. Ink Library Cafe

Ink Library Cafe is a library-themed cafe with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves lined with a variety of magazines. The cafe has been sectioned off to offer you the best of both worlds: a lively cafe that serves up a storm, and a reading area complete with plush chairs and individual standing lamps. 

Watch the sun go down on the deck outside or through the high glass windows as you enjoy your meal - either way you'll be surrounded by a serene setting. 

Food and beverages cost between RM5 and RM28. They primarily serve Western-style dishes.

Tucked into a corner lot is Bukku Cafe, a two-storey cafe with multiple sitting areas and wooden bookcases filled with donated books of various genres. You may find yourself picking up your next favourite read, but remember to leave a book of your own behind to keep the book exchange going. 

On a clear day, you can opt to have your meal among the fairy-light strewn trees in Bukku Cafe's romantic backyard. As for food, several reviewers highly recommend their speciality croissants that ooze with matcha or salted egg yolk.

3. Nuan Café

One step through the bright yellow doors of Nuan Café and you'll immediately smell the scent of freshly baked bread wafting through the air. Beyond their finely crafted pastries, multiple food bloggers have raved about Nuan Café's fusion meals, such as their speciality 'Otak-otak Egg Don'. 

Grand bookcases tower over the seating areas and are stocked with books written in a host of different languages. If any of the books tickle your fancy, you can pull it off the shelf and venture to the top floor for a more peaceful setting. 

Food and drinks served at Nuan Café cost anywhere between RM4 and RM20.

4. MeTime Book Cafe

At MeTime Book Cafe, you can be sure to find a quiet spot as this homely space is not short of private nooks carved into the walls. Snuggle up on a beanbag as you read under their 'starry night sky' or peruse their rustic-looking bookshelves brimming with manga. 

Reserve a space for two hours to ensure your alone time goes uninterrupted. You will even be served a complimentary cup of tea or coffee, and have access to their steamy showers, should you choose to pay for it. Water is provided as well. 

A two-hour session costs RM25 for visitors and RM18 for members

5. Book Barter Cafe

At Book Barter Cafe, you'll be surrounded by greenery and be able to bask in natural light as you delve into your next meal or novel. As their name implies, any book found on their bookshelf can be taken home, so long as you contribute one of your own in return. 

There are lots of gourmet goodies to snack on at Book Barter Cafe - just take a look at their scrumptious cakes and pies! It's definitely the perfect place for any sweet tooth. 

Their prices are also very reasonable as all items on the menu cost between RM1 and RM12

6. Pages Book Cafe

This quaint book cafe is jam-packed with affordable new fiction books, biographies, and graphic novels. If you can't find the book you're looking for, the store owner will happily do their best to source it for you! 

You can comfortably sit at a table, read on their luxurious couch, or chill by the counter. 

According to a few reviewers, you can get an excellent cup of coffee and delicious desserts at Pages Book Cafe. However, if you're looking to have a more hearty meal, you could also try any one of their pasta or rice dishes.
