60-Year-Old Man Who Raped A 13-Year-Old Disabled Girl Begs Court To Reduce His Sentence
He claimed "there are many things" he has to bear.

An elderly man in Johor who was found guilty for two charges of rape and physical sexual assault against a disabled 13-year-old girl pleaded with the Muar Sessions Court today, 22 January, for a lighter sentence
"There are many things I have to bear out there; I sincerely plead with the court to reduce my sentence," said Mohd Din Mohd Salleh, 60, who earlier pleaded guilty to raping the victim, his neighbour's daughter.
Judge Sayani Mohd Nor sentenced him to 15 years in prison and eight strokes of the rotan, ruling that the sentence would run concurrently from the date the accused was arrested on 17 January this year.
He was charged under Section 376 (1) of the Penal Code and Section 14 (a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, each punishable by up to 20 years' imprisonment and whipping for each charge.
Based on the facts of the case, Mohd Din raped and physically assaulted the minor between midnight and 1am on 11 January
The accused had contacted the victim to meet him in the kitchen of his rented house. Following which, he committed the act against the victim on a sofa in the kitchen.
At the time of the incident, her parents were sleeping and woke up to find their child missing. Later they found her at the house entrance in an untidy condition.
The victim's mother suspected something had happened to her child, took her to the hospital, and was told the victim had been raped, reported the New Straits Times.
She lodged a police report on the same day, and the accused was arrested six days later.
