Man Buys A Flight Ticket To Send Off His Wife But Got Arrested At The Airport Instead

Channel News Asia reported that the 27-year-old man was arrested at the airport's transit area on Sunday, 25 August.
The police found that the man had entered the transit area with no intention of departing Singapore
On Thursday, 29 August, the Singapore Police Force revealed in a Facebook post that the man solely bought a flight ticket so he could enter the airport's transit area to accompany his wife.
The man had no intention of boarding a flight and departing Singapore himself.
In Singapore, misusing a boarding pass is a punishable offence under the Infrastructure Protection Act
Police warned that offenders may be prosecuted in court and fined up to SGD20,000 (approximately RM60,800), or be jailed for up to two years, or both.
The Straits Times reported that since January 2019, 33 people have been apprehended for the misuse of boarding passes.
