Activist Lodges Police Report Against Man In Cheras For Removing Condom During Sex
The incident occurred on Saturday, 20 July.
A 38-year-old woman lodged a police report against a man after he removed his condom during sexual intercourse on 20 July
Kosmo reported that the duo had sex in the man's apartment in Cheras at around 1am on Saturday.
Kajang OCPD Asst Comm Ahmad Dzaffir Mohd Yussof confirmed the woman's police report, reported Astro Awani.
The victim, who is an environmental activist, claimed that she asked the man to wear a condom before agreeing to have sex with him
While the man reportedly agreed to the victim's demand, he later removed the condom during sex without her consent, according to China Press.
"Initial investigation showed that the woman decided to lodge a police report as she felt cheated and feared that she would contract HIV due to the man's actions," Asst Comm Ahmad was quoted as saying by Kosmo.
He added that the case has since been referred to the Selangor State Islamic Religious Department (JAIS).
The act of removing a condom during sex without consent is a form of sexual assault known as "stealthing"
In December 2018, CNN reported that a German police officer was sentenced to eight months in jail and fined EUR3,000 (approximately RM14,000) for "stealthing" his partner.
A French man was convicted of rape in 2017 for taking off his condom during sex with a Swiss woman, reported The Independent.
