Malaysia Gazettes 117 Foods Including Capati, Apam & Tuak As National Heritage
The food items featured in the 2025 Heritage Objects list are organised into 12 categories.
The National Heritage Department has officially gazetted 117 foods as national heritage under its Declaration of Heritage Objects 2025
This year's list is significantly larger than last year's, which included just 10 food items designated as national heritage objects to signify their cultural significance to the country.
The list, featuring some popular food items such as capati, rojak, nasi minyak, apam, and durian, was published today, 17 January, 2025, and signed by Commissioner Mohamad Muda Bahadin.
The foods listed in the 2025 Heritage Objects are classified into 12 categories.
