Cop Accused Of Raping A Minor Rape Victim Out On Bail
He was charged at the Sungai Petani Sessions Court today, 6 January, with one count of alleged rape and three counts of sexual assault against a 16-year-old girl at the Yan district police headquarters in Kedah.

Today, 5 January, a police inspector was charged at the Sungai Petani Sessions Court for allegedly raping a 16-year-old rape victim in his office at the Yan district police headquarters in Alor Setar, Kedah
The 35-year-old claimed trial over one count of alleged rape and three counts of sexual assault.
The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officer, Mohd Maliki Azmi, was charged before Judge Roslan Hamid. Maliki was calm when the charges were read to him by the court interpreter, reported New Straits Times.
He was charged with using his authority against the victim to rape the minor.
Maliki is accused of raping the minor at 6.30pm on 28 December in a criminal investigations room at the Yan police headquarters
The victim was there to give her statement against her stepfather, who allegedly raped her earlier.
Among the four charges, the first charge of rape was framed under Section 376(2)(f) of the Penal Code (Act 574), which carries a jail term of up to 20 years and whipping, if found guilty.
The three separate charges were framed under Sections 14(a), 14(c), and 15(a)(ii) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 read together with Section 16(1) of the same act.
Maliki pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court allowed the accused to be released on bail
This came after deputy public prosecutor Hizween Azleena Othman Kamal urged the court to impose RM20,000 bail for the rape charge and RM15,000 for the sexual assault charges. Following which, Maliki, who was not represented, pleaded to the court to set a lower amount for his bail as he had lost his income.
The court subsequently granted bail to the accused at RM10,000 with one surety for the rape charge and RM15,000 with one surety for all three charges of sexual assault.
He was ordered to hand over his passport to the court and prohibited from disturbing the victim.
The court fixed 6 February for a lawyer appointment and submission of documents.
