Father In Ampang Charged With 41 Counts Of Sexual Crimes Against Teen Daughter
The case came to light when the victim was detained while attempting to run away from her home earlier this month.
A father in Ampang was charged with 41 counts of sexual crimes against his 16-year-old daughter in their family home over the span of several months this year
The father of five replied "I plead not guilty" when asked to enter a plea for every single charge
He was charged with 14 counts of committing incest against his daughter at his home in Bukit Antarabangsa, Ampang, between January and October this year.
The man, who runs a cleaning business, was also charged with 18 counts of committing unnatural sex and nine counts of committing sexual harassment against the girl, who is his child from a previous marriage, at the same place and during the same period of time.
The case came to light when police detained the victim at Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) during her attempt to run away from her home on 1 November
"The teenager was actually detained for attempting to leave the city, which is currently under the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), without a travel permit," said Ampang Jaya police chief ACP Mohamad Farouk Eshak last week.
"Upon questioning, we got to know of the matter and that the victim was actually attempting to escape to her mother's home in Kedah."
It was previously reported that the father had gained custody of the victim away from her mother in September 2019 and took her to live with his wife and four stepchildren.
The ordeal has even led the victim to try and take her life.
If found guilty, the man faces a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping under Section 376A of the Penal Code for incest
He also faces a maximum of 30 years in jail and whipping if convicted under Section 377C of the Penal Code for unnatural sex and Section 16(1) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for sexual abuse against children.
The court did not allow the suspect bail and set 17 December for remention of the case and appointment of a lawyer.
Bernama also reported that the man will be charged with another nine counts of sexual crimes today, 11 November.
