Free Rides For Everyone On All RapidKL Services For One Month Starting Today

The new MRT Putrajaya Line will also be operating starting today!

This morning, 16 June, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced that Malaysians will enjoy FREE RapidKL services starting today

This serves as good news for those who use public transportation.

According to New Straits Times, the free services include: Mass Rapid Transit (MRT), Light Rail Transit (LRT), Bus Rapid Transit (BRT), monorail, and RapidKL buses.

Ismail also announced that the Klang Valley KTM Commuter service will also be free for a month starting today.

"With all these subsidies, we provided RM155 million in all to give these free services. I hope this will help the people,” he said, reported Malay Mail.

Meanwhile, the first phase of the new MRT Putrajaya Line is now fully operational from 3pm today

Commuters can now hop on the new line which comprises of 12 stations between Kwasa Damansara and Kampung Batu.

There are nine new stations included in this line, which are Damansara Damai, Sri Damansara Barat, Sri Damansara Sentral, Sri Damansara Timur, Metro Prima, Kepong Baru, Jinjang, Sri Delima, and Kampung Batu.

Other than the nine new stations, there are three stations that would remain in the new line

The three remaining stations are Kwasa Damansara, Kampung Selamat, and Sungai Buloh.

Phase 2, from Kampung Batu to Putrajaya, will be open to the public in January 2023.
