Ipoh Dad Arrested After 11-Year-Old Daughter Allegedly Eats His Cannabis-Laced Cookies
The victim's father is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

A 38-year-old father in Ipoh, Perak has been arrested after his daughter consumed some cookies suspected to be laced with cannabis
According to Free Malaysia Today, after eating the cookies baked by her father, the 11-year-old girl started experiencing shortness of breath, dizziness, and nausea.
Her father took her to Lawin Health Clinic in Gerik, where a medical assistant reported the incident to the police.
Then, the victim was taken to Gerik Hospital and later referred to Taiping Hospital for further examination and treatment.
Perak police chief Datuk Seri Mohd Yusri Hassan Basri said the victim is currently in a stable condition
He explained to theSundaily that as her treatment takes precedence, a urine test to determine if she did indeed consume cannabis cannot be conducted at the moment.
The victim's father has since been arrested and will be remanded from today, 30 May, until 3 June
According to Malay Mail, he is being investigated under Section 31(1)(a) of the Child Act 2001 and Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
The suspect, who works as a rubber tapper, tested positive for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a psychoactive component and one of the 113 cannabinoids identified in the cannabis plant.
Yusri advised the public to be more careful and to take precautions so that such incidents do not recur. He also asked the public not to make any speculations about the case.
