This PKR Youth Leader Has A Very Funny Way Of Explaining Why He Owns A "Castle"
The house is located located at Jalan Pinang near Kampung Melayu, Ampang.
It was an unusual day for Red Shirts leader Datuk Seri Jamal Yunos yesterday, 15 November, when he acted as a tour leader for the members of the media
He took a few journalists and photographers with him on a helicopter ride for an aerial view of a castle-like property, located at Jalan Pinang near Kampung Melayu, Ampang.
The two-and-half storey bungalow belongs to Ampang PKR Youth leader Datuk Adam Rosly.
The Sungai Besar UMNO chief claims that Adam, a 28-year-old youth with a 'Datuk', owns the house and a fleet of expensive cars
"We are questioning his success before he became PKR Ampang Youth head and after he got that position," Jamal reportedly said.
He added that he was only informed that Adam is only an SPM leaver there is no additional information about who Adam is and what he is working as.
Meanwhile, Ampang UMNO division chief Datuk Ismail Kijo, who was also present during the media tour, has urged MACC to probe Adam on his source of wealth
Ismail has filed a report with the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) yesterday, 15 November, and said that he would also lodge a report with the Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) to look into Adam's case.
"I have submitted the related evidence including pictures of the bungalow and luxury cars including an Audi, a Toyota Vellfire, a Mercedes-Benz and a BMW," he told reporters at the MACC headquarters.
NST reported Ismail as saying that Adam had only worked for PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin for the past three years, disputing claims that he comes from a wealthy family who own many businesses.
Responding to the matter, Adam said that it's not a strange thing to see wealthy Malaysians with titles nowadays
"Why at 28, I'm rich? Many Malaysians know a lot of young people who are rich and many have received the 'Datuk' title."
"I would like to say that I got my 'Datuk' title same like Jamal. If he wants to dispute my title, then he (Jamal) also got his Datuk and Datuk Seri titles this year," he was quoted as saying by Free Malaysia Today.
He went on to explain that he has made his wealth through various businesses that he inherited from his family, The Star reported.
"Not everyone who is rich made their money from political funding. If I had done so, I would not be openly building such a home in an area like this," he said.
He also disputed claims that he bought the house for RM7 million
According to media reports, Adam said that he had bid for the previously abandoned property for RM1 million in a bank auction.
"I retained the house design. I did not renovate it so that I could live in Disneyland," he was quoted as saying by Malaysiakini.
"A house in Ampang costing RM1 million is very cheap. It would be a waste not to buy a house with such a good design, and yet I am being slandered," he claimed.
On the other hand, Ampang MP Zuraida Kamaruddin has questioned why Jamal is allowed to use a helicopter to spy on a private property
The PKR lawmaker queried how Jamal had gotten an approval for his trip despite the short notice, asking if there was any "backyard dealing which allowed him to get approval within 24 hours".
She also wanted to know who funded the trip since travelling on a helicopter is "a lifestyle of the elites".
She also demanded to know the application procedures and the details required in the application forms before a civilian is allowed to charter or board commercial helicopters.
"How did he get approval to take this helicopter this afternoon to do something that is silly and non-beneficial?" the Ampang MP asked in a press conference yesterday, 15 November.
