Klang Security Guard Beaten To Death With Steering Lock After Confronting Man For Drinking

A security guard at a residential area in Bandar Bukit Raja, Klang, was allegedly beaten to death with a car steering lock after confronting a man during his patrol
According to the New Straits Times, Klang Utara police chief S Vijaya Rao said the incident occurred at about 1am on Sunday, 5 April.
He said a dispute broke out between the victim, 43-year-old G Anand, and a 40-year-old local suspect after the guard approached a group of men who were drinking in the neighbourhood while carrying out his duties.
"The victim sustained injuries from the assault and was rushed to Shah Alam Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4.18am," Vijaya said in a statement.

Anand, a father of two, was on his routine patrol when he noticed three men drinking outside a rented house in the area.
"As part of his duty, he approached the area and stopped to observe what was taking place.
"One of the men, who appeared intoxicated, shouted at him, asking, 'What are you staring at?'," Viswa told the New Straits Times when met at Anand's funeral at Fairy Park Heritage City in Shah Alam on Tuesday, 7 April.
Another man then intervened and apologised, advising Anand to leave as his friend was drunk. Anand subsequently returned to his guard post.

Although his companions initially managed to calm him down, the man allegedly came back alone minutes later and attacked Anand with a steering lock.
Anand suffered severe injuries and was rushed to Shah Alam Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police later tracked down and arrested the suspect and seized a car steering lock believed to have been used in the attack
Checks revealed the suspect has 10 prior criminal records, including two drug-related offences.
Police added that the victim and the suspect did not know each other and confirmed the case was not linked to gang activity, describing it as a random act believed to have been triggered by intoxication.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
