Klang Valley Hit By Major Blackout Amid Heavy Rain & Strong Winds

Several parts of Klang Valley have been hit by blackouts, with several areas and homes currently having no electricity

Netizens are taking to social media to report the situation in their residential areas and workplaces, including in Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Shah Alam, Kajang, Bangi, Cheras, and Bandar Sunway.

According to complaints, shopping malls such as Suria KLCC, Jaya One, DC Mall, and Sunway Pyramid have also gone dark.

The blackouts are being reported amid heavy rain and strong winds in the Klang Valley.

According to Free Malaysia Today, netizens from other states such as Pahang, Kedah, Negeri Sembilan, Perak, and Penang have also been reporting blackouts in the past hour.

Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) has confirmed that there are currently power outages in several areas

"Our technical team is currently investigating the cause of the incident. Efforts are underway to restore [electricity supplies]," it said.

"We apologise for any inconvenience experienced by users during the disruption."
