Local YouTuber Arrested For Allegedly Beating His 20-Year-Old Girlfriend To Death

Police have arrested a local YouTuber following the death of his girlfriend at Penang General Hospital on Sunday, 3 April
According to Bernama, Southwest district police chief Supt Kamarul Rizal Jenal said police had received a report from Balik Pulau Hospital on Saturday, 2 April, about a 20-year-old woman who was admitted unconscious and in critical condition.
"Examination of the victim found bruises on her head and whole body before the woman was referred to Penang General Hospital for further treatment due to her critical condition," he said in a statement on Tuesday, 5 April.
The police chief said the woman died the next day, while receiving treatment at the hospital.
After her death, the police arrested four men, including the victim's boyfriend, all aged 23 to 28, to assist in the investigation
The victim and her boyfriend had been staying at their friend's rented home in Teluk Ketumbar, Penang from 27 March to film content for his YouTube channel.
It is understood that the woman is from Melaka.
Netizens had recognised and condemned the suspect, who has over 110,000 subscribers on his channel, followings news of the victim's death on social media.
The victim is believed to have been beaten to death with a blunt object
Harian Metro reported that the incident is also believed to have taken place after the couple had an argument over jealous motives.
The suspects are now in remand for seven days until 11 April to assist in the investigations under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
