Loke: LRT3 To Begin Service On 30 September As It's Now Almost 99% Complete

Train operation testing will be carried out in two phases before service begins.

The Light Rail Transit 3 (LRT3) will begin operations on 30 September, Transport Minister Anthony Loke announced

In a parliamentary written response yesterday, 26 February, he revealed that that the project is currently 98.16% complete.

LRT3, also known as the Shah Alam Line, spans 37.8km and will connect Bandar Utama in Petaling Jaya to Johan Setia in Klang.

"The project is expected to be fully completed and handed over to Prasarana by the Turnkey Contractor on 31 July 2025. The operation commencement is scheduled for 30 September 2025.

"The train operation testing without passengers will be conducted in two phases to ensure the safety of the LRT3 service for passengers," Loke said.

He added that the testing periods for the Trial Run (TR) and Trial Operation (TO) are expected to last 75 days and 60 days, respectively.
