6-Month Pregnant Woman 'Miza Ozawa' Pleads Guilty To Solicitation & Porn Charges
In her appeal, she requested a minimum fine due to her pregnancy and HIV status.
On Wednesday, 19 June, a six-month pregnant woman, Siti Amiza Baharuddin, pleaded guilty at the Bandar Baru Bangi Magistrate's Court to soliciting prostitution using the alias Miza Ozawa via Telegram earlier this month
According to Harian Metro, the 27-year-old, who also sold sex-enhancement drugs, made her plea before Magistrate Nurdiyanah Mohd Nawawi.
The charge against Siti Amiza stems from her alleged solicitation at a condominium unit in Bandar Bukit Mahkota, Kajang, on 6 June at 4pm.
She was charged under Section 372B of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum prison term of one year, a fine, or both if convicted.
In her appeal, she requested a minimum fine due to her pregnancy and HIV status. However, no bail was set for this charge.
The court fixed 24 June for presenting case facts and sentencing before a Sessions Court judge
During the same proceedings, Siti Amiza was sentenced to one month in prison and fined RM12,500 after pleading guilty to possessing pornographic materials and illegal potency enhancers.
The pornographic materials were recovered from her laptop and three mobile phones, and she was charged under Section 292(a) of the Penal Code, which carries a maximum three-year prison sentence, a fine, or both.
The second charge involved possession of two boxes each of Secret Negro and Dara Jelita, violating Regulation 7(1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetics Regulations 1984. This offence is punishable by a fine of up to RM25,000, a prison term of up to three years, or both.
Deputy public prosecutor Siti Nur Liyana Mohd Sulaiman sought deterrent punishment for both offences, emphasising public interest.
Siti Amiza requested leniency, citing lack of income after her savings were seized, and her expressing her need to support herself in Selangor.
Previously, Siti Amiza was arrested in Bandar Bukit Mahkota for promoting sex work and selling sex-enhancement drugs on social media, allegedly earning up to RM20,000 a month
Bukit Aman CID Anti-Vice, Gambling, and Secret Societies Division (D7) Assistant Director Senior Assistant Commissioner Mohamad Farouk Eshak confirmed that she was involved in sex work with four other suspects.
Preliminary investigations revealed that besides selling unregistered sex products, they also offered sex services to clients.
Meanwhile, Bukit Aman CID Director Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain noted that Siti Amiza had a prior conviction for assaulting her mother under Section 323 of the Penal Code.
