A newly opened section of the West Coast Expressway (WCE), WCE Section 2, will be toll-free for a month starting today, 22 January, until 21 February

According to The Malaysian Reserve, WCE Section 2 directly connects the South Klang Valley Expressway (SKVE) Interchange and the Shah Alam Expressway (SAE) Interchange.

The expressway is operated by West Coast Expressway Sdn Bhd, an 80% owned subsidiary of WCE Holdings Bhd.

This new section opened after the previous stretch, WCE Section 1, between the Banting Interchange and the SKVE Interchange was opened on 31 August last year

Together, these sections significantly reduce travel time from Shah Alam to Banting or KLIA compared to existing routes, enhancing local mobility and economic activity, reported The Malaysian Reserve.

Although WCE Section 2 will be toll-free for a month, standard toll charges for other parts of the expressway will remain unchanged, based on vehicle type, reported the New Straits Times.
